Firearms

Tactical Handgun (TAC-001)

A course designed for those with handgun experience to take them to the next level. Course will cover combat mindset, terminal ballistics, rapid threat analysis and acquisition, shooting on the move, multiple target engagement, and team movement. This course is a hands on live fire course with very limited time spent in the classroom. Course is a minimum of 28 hours of instruction and range time.

Tactical Shotgun (TAC-002)

A hands on live fire course for the working professional. Course covers proper deployment of the shotgun from both a deadly force and less than lethal aspect. Load selection, tactical and combat reloads along with weapons transitions are practices. This is an intensive one-day course for the Operator with a basic understanding of the tactical shotgun. Course consists of 8 hours of instruction and range time.

Tactical Rifle (TAC-003)

A course designed for the Operator who wants more out of their rifle. Course covers rapid weapons mounting and transition, proper deployment and combat mindset. Rapid threat analysis and acquisition, shooting on the move, multiple target engagement, and team movement are practiced. This course is a hands on live fire course with very limited time spent in the classroom. Course is a minimum of 28 hours of instruction and range time.

Basic Sniping (TAC-004)

This course is designed for the current or future Precision Rifleman. This intense five-day course will cover fundamentals of precision marksmanship, ballistics, shooting positions, multiple targets, hides, moving targets and sniper employment in support of conventional and special operations. Course will culminate in a qualification and stress fire course.

Advanced Sniping (TAC-005)

This course is designed to provide the experienced operator with new concepts, operational procedures and training ideas for use in the tactical environment. This challenging five-day course will cover vehicle engagement, hostage rescue operations, advanced scope theory, camouflage and rural operations, transition to the urban environment, high angle firing and training tactics for the Sniper Team Leader. The student should be a graduate of Basic Sniper TAC-004 or a current sniper.

Explosive Entry Technician (TAC-006)

This is a challenging multi part course. The first two days will consist of a 16 hour training block that will cover all aspects of explosives theory, handling, storage, and explosives calculations. Phase two of the course will focus on tactical explosive entry and will cover internal pressure calculations, target identification/intelligence, charge selection, charge construction, tactics, techniques and procedures for charge placement and misfire procedures. Course will also discuss and explore alternative breaching techniques such as mechanical and shotgun breaching.

Basic Close Quarters Battle (TAC-007)

This course is built upon U.S. Military Special Operations techniques for room entry. This three day course is dynamic, hands on, live fire course that focuses on dynamic entry and surgical shooting. This course is designed to introduce the student to the knowledge and skills necessary for this type of entry and to provide them with a training plan for sustainment. Topics covered include zone clearing, diversionary devices, initiative based tactics, width and depth and an introduction to the immediate threat concept.

Protective Service Detail (PSD) (TAC-008)

A hands on, in depth course that explores the role of the PSD element in a high threat environment. Course covers drop and arrival, foot movement and interior movement under duress. This course includes live fire react to contact drills, extensive force on force with role players as well as basic motorcade operations and the use of the advance. Course is taught by current and former members of PSD’s in Iraq and Afghanistan. Course has a fixed price regardless of the number of students, but there is minimum of twenty students for the course be conducted.

Specialty

Embassy Operations

Working with and in proximity of a US State Department Mission requires detailed knowledge; as the diplomatic arena has many nuances and undertones that may not be applicable to other environments your unit personnel may find themselves in. During this 3 day (24 hour) course, Embassy Operations, we will provide the student with a better than working knowledge of the embassy environment by explaining and demonstrating the roles and responsibilities of the following specific areas:

  • Embassy do’s and don’ts
  • Day to day functioning of the Embassy
  • Embassy support to PR
  • Non Combatant Evacuation (NEO)
  • Detention by Host Nation

Force Protection

Although force protection is both an individual and group responsibility, the success and safety of the group is based on individual force protection measures. During the five day (40 hour) period of instruction, Force Protection Training Course we will deliver lecture, practical application and guided discussion based training in the areas below:

  • “Grey Man” training
  • OCONUS threats
  • Motel security
  • Personal electronics security
  • Basic street craft
  • Risk mitigation thru surveillance detection

Medical

Combat Life Saver (CLS) (MED-001)

Uses USSOCOM utilizing AIPD/AMEDD approved written materials, student manuals, multimedia and testing standards. All Front Range Training and Consulting instructors have real world operational experience, offering antidotal examples of current military SOPS. Course objectives include, TCCC, evaluating a casualty, opening and managing an airway, treating penetrating chest trauma and needle decompression of tension pneumothorax, hemorrhage control, initiating saline lock and intravenous infusion, initiate a field medical card (DD1380), 9-line MEDEVAC, evacuate a causality using a SKED or improved litter as well as real world techniques used by current and former Special Operations medics and corpsman. Three training levels addressed are the operator, unit medic and medical care provider. Classroom environment and FTX, 32 hours estimated time per training cycle.

Advanced Tactical Medical Training (LTT) (MED-002)

This course is an advanced combat medical course with FTX and lab exercises performed under the supervision of Front Range Training and Consulting instructors (MD, DVM, 18D, IDC, 68W, HM and Paramedics) familiar with battlefield trauma. Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Combat Life Saver (CLS), and Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) are the focal points of training. This training adheres to the categories and levels of training outlined in the PHTLS (Basic and Advanced Trauma Life Support) Military Edition (Revised 6th Edition) with the course curriculum meeting the academic training needs of the non-medical individual Marine (Individual Operator), Combat Lifesaver, and Basic Corpsman (Field Medical Service Technician, HM-8404) and Healthcare Specialist (68W). The course is focused to enhance the student’s previous medical training, but is primarily focused on providing the individual the necessary operational medical skills to sustain life on the battlefield, whether through self-care, or buddy-aid.

Brigade Combat Team Trauma Training (BCT3) (MED-003)

This course mirrors the program developed and executed by AMEDD. This course is specified for BCTs and those units on orders to deploy. Attendees must be a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician and must hold the Health Care Specialist 68W MOS. All attendees must have completed the 300-68W(CMAST/MSTC) course or the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) course, within the previous 24 months. Other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis concurrent with U.S. Army EMS Programs Management Office under the guidelines provided by the Department of Combat Medic Training (DCMT), AMEDDC&S.

Instructor

Handgun Instructor (INS-001)

A course designed for those in an Instructor role. Course covers handgun fundamentals, problem shooter diagnostics, range management and in depth look at Instructor techniques. Students will run their own ranges and perform several student and Instructor Staff critiqued teach backs. This is a five day (40 + hour) course and students must be a graduate of Tactical Handgun TAC-001 or a a similar course. Student will be required to pass a qualification course with 80% on Day One of the course to remain in the course. The Qualification course is available prior to the course.

Shotgun Instructor (INS-002)

An Instructor level course for the Firearms Instructor. Course will cover range management, qualification courses, an in depth focus on Instructor techniques and employment of the shotgun. This is a faced paced, extended two-day course. Prerequisite is Tactical Shotgun TAC-002 or a current Firearms Instructor.

Tactical Rifle/SMG Instructor (INS-003)

A dynamic, hands on course for the Firearms Instructor. Course covers fundamentals of shooting and will discuss several of the more popular SMG’s in use today including weapons systems by HK and the Colt Family. Course will also cover range management and safety, ballistics, and instructor techniques. This is an intense five day (40 + hour) course and students should be a graduate of Patrol Rifle/SMG TAC-003 or a similar course. Student will be required to pass a qualification course with 80% on Day One of the course to remain in the course. The Qualification course is available prior to the course.

Firearms Instructor Development (INS-004)

This is an intense five day (40 + hour) Instructor level course and students should be a graduate of Patrol Rifle LET-003 or a similar course. Student will be required to pass a qualification course with 80% on Day One of the course to remain in the course. The Qualification course is available prior to the course.

Sniper Instructor (INS-005)

This course is designed for the current Precision Rifleman looking to become an Instructor in Police Sniping. This Instructor Level five-day course will cover fundamentals of precision marksmanship, ballistics, shooting positions, multiple targets, hides, moving targets, sniper employment in support of SWAT operations, shooter diagnostics, range safety and management and instructional techniques. This course is taught by a former Chief Instructor at the Marine Corps Scout Sniper School in Quantico.

Shoothouse Instructor (INS-006)

A must have course for the department that trains in a shoothouse or is considering building a shoothouse. Course will cover the role of the shoothouse instructor, shoothouse safety, design and construction, developing a shoothouse training program, and how to build effective building block scenarios for the shoothouse. Course will include both classroom, and live fire shoothouse instruction that will be in excess 16 hours.

Edged Weapon Defense Instructor (INS-007)

An Instructor level course for the Edged Weapon Defense Program. This course covers instruction techniques and training scenarios for the Edged Weapon Defense Program developed by Peter Boatman of the United Kingdom. This is a physically challenging three-day course. The student must be a certified EWDP user.
